WIPO released its 2010 statistics for domain name disputes. The numbers have increased from the year prior, with a record breaking 2,696 cybersquatting cases covering 4,370 domain names. That equals a 28% increase from the previous year. The report noted that the top five areas of activity were in retail, banking and finance, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, Internet and IT, and fashion.
